Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drew Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drew Sampson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Sampson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Rose! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampson closes the distance and pushes Rose back into the cage. Rose works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Sampson working for a triangle but Rose defends it easily.
Rose controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson has a closed guard, preventing Rose from standing up. Sampson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Rose puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson gets full guard. Rose slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Let's hope that Rose has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Rose advances to half guard. Sampson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rose on the ground. Rose is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sampson wants to control but Rose is keeping busy and won't allow it. Rose takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sampson really is a fat lump.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sampson stuffs the takedown. Sampson gets caught flat footed, as Rose shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sampson is looking to stand back up but Rose counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sampson. Rose lands strikes from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose sitting and controlling from the half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rose connects with a nice short shot to Sampson's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sampson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sampson is trying to maintain the position but Rose is very close to passing his half guard. Rose thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sampson's head. Rose is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sampson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rose. Rose content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Rose dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sampson shoots in looking for a takedown but Rose manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sampson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rose shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sampson counters with a series of strikes. Rose will be more careful next time no doubt. Sampson doesn't manage to clinch there - Rose circles away.
Despite the aggression on Rose's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Sampson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rose gets a double leg takedown into Sampson's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rose is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rose accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sampson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rose's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Rose pushes down on Sampson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rose in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rose has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rose working away from the top, dropping strikes. Rose lands a couple of good shots and Sampson has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Rose has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rose is cranking Sampson's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Sampson! He's tightened the choke and Sampson is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luis Rose!
