The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assadi lands with a nice combination. Hale backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Beau Hale has been cut.
Assadi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Assadi in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hale sneaks back into half guard.
Hale is not content to let Assadi control the position.
Assadi not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Assadi is looking to take a break and control but Hale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Max Assadi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Max Assadi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
