Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Droppa Cleveland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hussein Stahl! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stahl takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Droppa Cleveland has been cut. Cleveland throws a combination. Stahl tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Stahl throws a right and a left that both miss. We've been told by Cleveland's head coaches at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Stahl throws a right and a left that Cleveland avoids nicely. Cleveland appears to be looking for a big counter. Cleveland lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Cleveland tries to bum rush Stahl with a series of wild strikes but Stahl uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fight moves into the clinch position. Stahl misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cleveland breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Stahl throws a head kick that misses. Stahl instigates a clinch. Cleveland gets underhooks to prevent Stahl's takedown attempt.
Cleveland tries to break free but Stahl pushes him back against the cage. Stahl keeps control of Cleveland as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cleveland wants to break the clinch but can't.
Stahl has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cleveland avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Stahl tries to throw a body punch but Cleveland avoids it by throwing Stahl back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cleveland wants to break free but Stahl has control.
Cleveland escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stahl misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cleveland blocks a head kick by Stahl.
Cleveland throws a series of punches but Stahl avoids them all with ease. Cleveland on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Stahl showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cleveland.

Cleveland defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stahl. Droppa Cleveland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hussein Stahl. Cleveland throws a series of punches but Stahl moves out of range. Stahl cracks Cleveland with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Excellent takedown into side control there by Stahl. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stahl wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cleveland, who protects the arm well. Stahl works to advance to full mount. Cleveland defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Stahl controlling from mount. Stahl moves to the back position. Stahl is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Stahl working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Stahl is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Cleveland is defending well though. Stahl let's go of the attempt for now. Stahl has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cleveland has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stahl biding his time, looking for the opening.
Stahl tries to get the hooks in deep but Cleveland pushed the leg off. Cleveland wants to get back to his feet. Well, with Stahl on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Cleveland is tapping out... Can he escape the position? I would not like to be Cleveland right now.
Stahl has managed to slip his arm under Cleveland's chin. This could be all over... yep, Cleveland is tapping out! Submission win for Stahl.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hussein Stahl! Hussein Stahl was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
