The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
McCarthy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Basurto uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McCarthy.
Basurto let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

and Basurto counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCarthy won't be happy with that.
