Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wilbur Cooley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trey Kraken! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kraken scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kraken working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kraken sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kraken is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Cooley is not content to let Kraken control the position. Kraken lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kraken scoring with strikes to the body and head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cooley pushes Kraken off and gets back to his feet. Kraken throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cooley's waist but Cooley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kraken off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kraken shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cooley pinned against the cage. Cooley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As Kraken tries to get set, Cooley tries to push him back and clinch up but Kraken manages to avoid the attempt. Cooley clinches. Kraken tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cooley just stands there and leans against the cage. Wilbur Cooley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Kraken. Kraken keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cooley's efforts to push away. Kraken has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cooley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Cooley breaks from the clinch.

Kraken tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kraken's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cooley wants to clinch up but Kraken keeps it at a distance. Cooley tries to clinch up but Kraken circles away and keeps his distance. Cooley forces Kraken back against the cage and clinches. Kraken is trying to pull guard but Cooley has him pressed against the cage. Kraken is trying to maintain a safe position but Cooley gets an underhook and turns Kraken into the cage. Kraken stalling in the clinch but Cooley improves position. Kraken is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Cooley has denied him. Kraken misses with a punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kraken tries to pull guard but Cooley forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Cooley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cooley clinches up with Kraken and pushes him back against the cage. Kraken tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cooley smiles and moves away.
Kraken shoots in and gets a takedown into Cooley's guard. Cooley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Cooley prevents Kraken from breaking the clinch. Cooley effectively controlling the action here.

Cooley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kraken fails in his attempt to clinch. Cooley is looking to counter with a body kick. Cooley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kraken can do to turn this around? Kraken tries to close the distance and clinch but Cooley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kraken gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cooley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kraken looks to clinch and Cooley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. As Kraken looks to move away, Cooley throws a big counter combo but Kraken just gets out of the way. Kraken tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cooley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cooley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Kraken fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kraken is breathing heavily. Kraken tries to clinch but Cooley moves out of range. Cooley has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cooley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kraken tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kraken tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cooley just stands there and leans against the cage. Kraken jumps guard but Cooley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. The referee is keeping an eye on Kraken - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kraken shoots for a takedown but Cooley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kraken tries to avoid it but Cooley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kraken to the ground. Kraken escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cooley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cooley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cooley wants it to stay on the feet. No luck for Kraken with that takedown attempt. Cooley closes the distance and clinches. Cooley wants to get back to striking at distance but Kraken won't allow it.

Kraken wants the takedown. Cooley is fighting it off but Kraken persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cooley's guard against the cage. Kraken slips nicely into half guard. Cooley is refusing to be controlled, as Kraken sits in half guard. Kraken takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kraken decides to return to a standing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kraken closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cooley quickly recovers to half guard. Cooley makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Cooley fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kraken shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cooley but Cooley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cooley fails in his attempt to clinch. Kraken shoots in for a takedown but Cooley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kraken shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cooley as he jumps to the side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Cooley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kraken manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cooley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kraken swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kraken looks to score with a jab to the body but Cooley is just out of range. As Kraken tries to get set, Cooley tries to push him back and clinch up but Kraken manages to avoid the attempt. Cooley closes the distance and clinches. Kraken wants a takedown but no success here.
Cooley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cooley instigates a clinch. Kraken is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cooley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Wilbur Cooley showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cooley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
