Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shape Shifter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin BK (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Benjamin BK! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shifter slips under a jab from BK. BK misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
BK walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shifter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Shifter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Shifter drops his hands momentarily and BK takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Shifter rushes BK and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. BK tries to work over Shifter's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Shifter tries for a takedown. No joy.
Shifter is trying to trip BK. He has hold of a leg but BK is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shifter persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BK bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shifter's guard. Shifter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. BK preventing the sweep. Shifter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. BK preventing the sweep. BK connects with a couple of short punches. BK with a nice head shot there. BK must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shifter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but BK can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. BK with a nice head shot there. Shifter throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Shifter has gone for a leg lock! BK slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shifter's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shifter is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shifter throws a big elbow that misses. BK wants to sweep but no luck. Shifter is looking to pass into half guard but BK pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now BK is in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shifter is looking for a triangle but BK pushes his legs off easily.
Shifter lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Shifter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed BK's guard. Shifter prevents BK from improving his position. Shifter throwing shots but BK is blocking nicely. Shifter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
BK tries to roll over but Shifter keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BK is still trying to improve position. Shifter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
BK wants to improve his position but Shifter is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shifter is pressing down on BK's thigh, looking to free his foot. BK is holding on for now. BK gets back to full guard.
BK is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shifter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shifter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shifter throws a big elbow that misses. BK tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shifter forces his way into half guard. BK is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. BK makes his way to full guard. A much better position for BK. BK looking for a sweep. Not yet BK, not yet. BK avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. BK looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shifter is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shape Shifter will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shifter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as BK throws out the jab. A counter left hand to the body from Shifter misses its target. Shifter dives in and grabs BK's left leg, looking for a takedown. BK pushes down on Shifter's head and hops out. Shifter shoots in for a takedown but BK shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shape Shifter. That's going to take a lot out of him. BK cracks the inside of Shifter's front leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shifter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shifter fires out a quick counter leg kick but BK just manages to avoid it. BK lands with a straight right. Shifter didn't see that one coming. BK feints and then cracks Shifter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shifter down. Shifter checks the leg kick. Shifter blocks a jab. BK takes a swing at Shifter's ribcage but misses. A punch lands to the side of Shifter 's head but he takes it in his stride. Shifter walks forward, straight into a front kick from BK. BK throws a shot from downtown. Shifter moves away and avoids it. BK is looking to clinch. Benjamin BK seems to be getting the better of the standup. Shifter moves out of range as BK strikes. Shifter slips a jab from BK.

BK swings away with a leg kick that misses. BK connects with an inside leg kick. Shifter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. BK jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shifter is looking to counter the offense by BK and move into the clinch. BK bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Shifter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by BK.
BK lands a leg kick that knocks Shifter off balance momentarily. Benjamin BK seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. I was talking to Shifter's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shifter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. BK fights it off and pushes away nicely.
BK throws a leg kick and Shifter counters with a three punch combo that has BK backing up. BK nods at Shifter to acknowledge the strikes. Shifter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Good leg kick by BK there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Shifter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before BK can pounce on him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. BK darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Shifter has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from BK. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shifter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from BK. BK throws a chopping leg kick but Shifter manages to avoid taking any serious damage. BK clinches with his opponent.

Shifter is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. BK can't fight it off and eventually Shifter manages to take the fight to the floor. BK looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shifter works a leg free and moves into half guard. BK tries to get to full guard but Shifter has control of the leg. Shifter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, BK has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benjamin BK showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
BK throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shifter drops down looking for a counter takedown but BK sprawls and moves away. BK looks to throw the jab but Shifter is out of range. It appears Shifter was looking to counter with a kick there. Shifter tries to clinch up. BK with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
BK is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. BK throws a body kick that misses. Shifter tried to counter with a leg kick but BK avoided it. BK is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shifter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Shifter is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Shifter tries to free his leg and advance position but BK is retaining full guard. Shifter drops back, looking for a kneebar! BK looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. BK looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from BK! Shifter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
