Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson tries for a takedown but Romero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simpson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Simpson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Romero pinned against the cage. Romero gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Simpson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Simpson gets caught flat footed, as Romero shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Simpson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Romero stacks Simpson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Romero!
Simpson is trying to control Romero's posture but Romero avoids it.

Simpson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romero does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Romero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simpson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Romero is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Simpson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Simpson's back!

Romero is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Simpson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Simpson turns into Romero and is now in his guard.
