Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leland Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hannibal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leland Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Hannibal!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Hopkins as Hannibal shoots in.

Hopkins drops back looking for a leg! Hannibal is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hannibal manages to kick Hopkins off! Hopkins jumps back into Hannibal's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hopkins wants to pass the guard but Hannibal is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hannibal controls Hopkins momentarily but Hopkins frees himself.
Hopkins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hannibal shoots for a takedown but Hopkins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hopkins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hannibal can't do much from the bottom here.

Hopkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hopkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hannibal shoots for a double leg takedown but Hopkins sprawls well. He's pushed Hannibal's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hopkins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hannibal is just riding it out for now. Hopkins eventually gives up the hold.

Hopkins is taking a breather. Hannibal says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hopkins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's time! Hopkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Hopkins has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hannibal clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hopkins has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hannibal's body.

Hopkins just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Hopkins is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Hopkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hannibal can do to turn this around?

Hopkins is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Hannibal is defending well though. Hopkins let's go of the attempt for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hopkins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
