Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papy Abedi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papy Abedi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papy Abedi!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abedi ducks right into an uppercut from Ward.
Ward uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abedi has time to react.
Abedi ducks under a wild hook from Ward.

Abedi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ward manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ward seems keen to control Abedi's posture.
Abedi throws a big right hand that misses.

Ward is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Abedi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Ward pushes Abedi off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Abedi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ward avoids it really well and circles away.

Ward is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Abedi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ward tries to move to mount but Abedi blocks the move with his legs.

Ward works to advance to full mount. Abedi defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Ward goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Abedi turns into him and now he's in Ward's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ward postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Abedi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ward, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abedi is trying to escape the position but Ward is controlling the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Abedi regains half guard, as Ward was trying to land strikes.

Ward looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Abedi is trying to maintain the position but Ward is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Ward manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward throws a punch but it's blocked by Abedi.
Ward is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Abedi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Ward blocks an uppercut.
Abedi scores with a shoulder strike.

Abedi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ward wants a takedown but no success here.
A nice left hand lands by Abedi.
Abedi lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Ward breaks from the clinch.
Ward throws a series of punches but Abedi moves out of range.
Ward misses with a straight right.
Abedi moves out of range as Ward strikes.
Abedi connects with a looping right hand.
Abedi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ward. Ward obviously looking to wear him down.
Abedi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A shot to the liver by Abedi. Beautiful body shot.
Abedi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ward.
Ward dives in and grabs Abedi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abedi pushes down on Ward's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ward is rocked!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Ward is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Abedi cracks Ward with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Abedi immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Ward is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Abedi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Papy Abedi!
Papy Abedi bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
