PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Kendo Hirigushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Li Zhou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zhou is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Title Fight - Your Pain Is Mine Now. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Li Zhou!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhou tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Zhou has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hirigushi is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Li Zhou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheers as Hirigushi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zhou doesn't seem phased though.
Hirigushi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Total Impact MMA/KT in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendo Hirigushi dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hirigushi breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Zhou with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Zhou looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Zhou get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Kendo Hirigushi!
Kendo Hirigushi seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
