Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zander Harland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos comes into the arena with Sandstorm blaring out of the sound system. Harland has chosen We Don't Know as his entrance music. Jose Cronos has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zander Harland!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cronos throws a combination. Harland tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jose Cronos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harland closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cronos did well to prevent Harland getting side control.
Cronos works his way to full guard. Good work.

Cronos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harland wants to control from the top but Cronos keeps moving.
Harland won't allow Cronos to sweep him here.
Harland throws a strike but Cronos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Cronos trying to control the position from guard on top but Harland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cronos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Cronos wants to control from the top but Harland keeps moving.
Harland is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Harland manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cronos manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Harland throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cronos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cronos holds on and takes a little breather.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cronos lands a jab to the nose.

Harland shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cronos but Cronos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cronos looks to land a combination but Harland avoids it well.
Harland dodges the punch combination from Cronos.
Cronos throws a right hand that Harland ducks under and follows up with a left that Harland also avoids with ease.
Cronos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Harland wants to counter the offense by Cronos and move into the clinch position.

Cronos is not content to let Harland control the position.

Cronos is looking for a sweep.
Harland looks up at the clock and then as Cronos takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Harland smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Harland wants to control but Cronos is keeping him busy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
I wouldn't like to be where Cronos is right now.
Cronos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Harland creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Cronos manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jose Cronos will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cronos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Harland circles away quickly and effectively.
Cronos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jose Cronos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Harland tries for a takedown but Cronos circles away easily
and Cronos counters with a nice uppercut.
Harland tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cronos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cronos looks to land a combination but Harland avoids it well.

Harland shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cronos is trying to defend but Harland finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cronos is trying to work for a kimura but Harland is defending well.

Cronos went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Harland shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cronos pinned against the cage. Cronos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A combination from Cronos does no damage.
Harland changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Harland is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Jose Cronos dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Cronos throws a nice looking combination but Harland bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Harland tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cronos swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cronos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Harland tries to move into range but Cronos moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Cronos is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Harland tries for a takedown but Cronos manages to get underhooks.

Good leg kick by Cronos there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Cronos gets caught napping as Harland dives in and scores a takedown. Cronos manages to retain guard.

Harland chips away with some ground and pound.
Cronos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cronos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Harland manages to get himself to full guard.

Jose Cronos showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cronos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jose Cronos rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Zander Harland spoke after the fight, saying 'Just don't know what happened. I had it. It was mine for the taking.'.
