Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Wallace (ranked 1677 p4p, 187 weight class) and DJ Boom (ranked 573 p4p, 70 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, DJ Boom!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom avoids the body shot from Wallace.
Boom throws a body punch but Wallace moves out of range.
Boom takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Boom looks for the body kick but Wallace saw that one coming.
Boom works the jab nicely.
Wallace stuns Boom with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Boom misses with a straight right.
Boom circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wallace slips under a jab from Boom.
Boom ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've been told by Wallace's head coaches at Gym Beam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wallace walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Boom has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Boom stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wallace.
Wallace throws a leg kick which misses Boom's front leg but catches the back leg as Boom tries to avoid it.
Wallace bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Wallace takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Boom just misses with a elbow thrown towards Wallace's brow.

Wallace feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Booms jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Boom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Good leg kick by Wallace there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Boom throws the left hand but Wallace avoids the punch easily.

DJ Boom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Boom counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Boom throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wallace feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Boom's calf.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nathan Wallace will probably get the nod.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Boom crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wallace - the referee stops the clock and Boom gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wallace. Boom manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nathan Wallace.
Well Wallace has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
