Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien Sandow (ranked 2529 p4p, 332 weight class) and Kyros Aigaios (ranked 3279 p4p, 412 weight class). Sandow comes to the cage accompanied by Aint No Grave . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damien Sandow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyros Aigaios! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sandow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aigaios as he avoids it easily. Aigaios stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aigaios wants it to stay on the feet. Sandow misses with a head kick.
Aigaios only half commits to the counter leg kick. Aigaios scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Damien Sandow has been cut. Aigaios tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sandow drops down looking for a counter takedown but Aigaios sprawls and moves away. Sandow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aigaios's waist but Aigaios gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sandow off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damien Sandow. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sandow has a takedown stuffed. Sandow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aigaios sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sandow somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donk. Aigaios catches Sandow right on the button with a cross. Aigaios misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sandow closes the distance and clinches up with Aigaios, looking for a takedown. Sandow pushes Aigaios against the cage but Aigaios circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandow fails with a takedown attempt. Aigaios doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Aigaios swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sandow fails with the takedown and Aigaios counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sandow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sandow misses with a takedown attempt - Aigaios sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That kick from Aigaios tenderised Sandow's leg. Sandow is trying to keep his angry face on. Aigaios throws a shot from downtown. Sandow moves away and avoids it. Sandow shoots in for a takedown but Aigaios shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Damien Sandow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Aigaios misses the target. Sandow feinted with a counter takedown. Aigaios throws a nice looking combination but Sandow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sandow attempts a counter takedown but Aigaios avoids it well and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aigaios stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Aigaios throws a hook but Sandow avoids it easily. Sandow slips a jab and a cross from Aigaios.

Aigaios throws a looping overhand right but Sandow ducks down to avoid it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sandow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aigaios moves away. No luck for Sandow with that takedown attempt. Sandow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aigaios to the mat! Aigaios manages to get full guard. Sandow passes into half guard. Aigaios pushes Sandow off looking to stand but Sandow dives back in and keeps control.
Sandow is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aigaios wants to get back to his feet.
Sandow is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aigaios doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sandow. Aigaios told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Sandow is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aigaios defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sandow seems to be looking for submissions.
Sandow is working for a submission of some sort.
Sandow is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aigaios is just riding it out for now. Sandow eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sandow is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Aigaios pushes Sandow off looking to stand but Sandow dives back in and keeps control.

Kyros Aigaios dominated that round. The cut man is working on Damien Sandow's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Sandow throws a big shot that misses. Sandow with a lazy takedown attempt and Aigaios counters with a nice uppercut. Sandow dives in and grabs Aigaios's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aigaios pushes down on Sandow's head and hops out. Aigaios looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sandow scores with a takedown into Aigaios's guard. Aigaios wants to stand but Sandow is controlling the position. Aigaios tries to land a sweep but no joy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aigaios can do anything to dispel that myth. Sandow drops back looking for a leg! Aigaios is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aigaios manages to kick Sandow off! Sandow jumps back into Aigaios's guard. Sandow stops Aigaios from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sandow pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aigaios is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandow has gone for a leg lock! Aigaios slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sandow's guard.
Aigaios is sitting in close to Sandow's body. Sandow has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Aigaios is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Aigaios is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sandow.
