Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Glass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glass comes to the cage accompanied by Across 110th Street by Bobby Womack. Maiden has chosen Iron Maiden as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond Glass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddy Maiden!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glass lands a nice looking kick to the body. Maiden takes a step back to recover.
Maiden on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Maiden scores with the left hand. Glass knows he should have avoided that one.
Maiden goes for a double leg but Glass avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Glass continues to drive forward.

Maiden drives through with a takedown into Glass's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maiden throws a head kick that misses.

Glass moves out of range of the body kick.
And Glass counters with a quick kick to the body but Maiden blocks it.
Glass throws a body shot but no joy.
Maiden takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A slapping body kick lands there for Glass.
Maiden takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A head kick misses from Maiden.
Maiden tries a head kick but it misses.
Maiden looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Maiden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Maiden swings for the body but Glass moves out of range.
It appears Glass was looking to counter with a kick there.
Glass has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Maiden throws a wild body kick that Glass sees coming a mile off.
Nice uppercut lands for Glass. That snapped Maiden's head back.

Maiden scores with a takedown into Glass's guard.
Maiden won't allow Glass to sweep him here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maiden tries to free his leg and advance position but Glass is retaining full guard.
Glass is looking to stand up but Maiden isn't so interested in that idea.
Glass utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Maiden works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Glass has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Maiden is working away from the top position though.
Glass works his way to full guard. Good work.
Glass wants to stand and escape but Maiden is having none of it.
Maiden trying to control but Glass is working from the bottom.
Maiden content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Maiden stands up over Glass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Maiden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Glass swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Glass wants to stand up but Maiden is controlling him.
Glass wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Glass has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maiden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
An inside leg kick lands from Glass.
Glass throws a quick inside leg kick.
Maiden tries to land a front kick but Glass steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Maiden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Glass pinned against the cage. Glass gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Desmond Glass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddy Maiden.
Maiden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Glass as he avoids it easily.
Glass is looking to counter punch.
Glass sizes up Maiden with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Good leg kick by Maiden there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Glass lands a front kick.
Nice body kick there by Glass.
Maiden tries a head kick but it misses.
Glass scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Glass scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Maiden misses with a low kick.
Maiden shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Glass sprawls well. Glass wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maiden gets slowly back to his feet.
Maiden tries a head kick but it misses.
Glass bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Glass avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Glass tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It seemed like Maiden was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Desmond Glass is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Glass scores with a shot to the body.
Maiden tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Glass is able to avoid easily.
Maiden throws a chopping leg kick but Glass manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Maiden pivots, looking for a leg kick but Glass is out of range and Maiden settles back down.
Glass lands a right hook to the body.
Maiden takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Maiden has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Glass.
Maiden tries for a takedown but Glass sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Glass pushes Maiden up against the cage in a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Glass.
Glass lands a right hand.
Maiden tries to pull guard but Glass won't allow it.
Glass misses with a short punch on the inside.
Glass doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Maiden is trying to pull guard but Glass has him pressed against the cage.
Maiden tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Glass smiles and moves away.
Desmond Glass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddy Maiden.
Maiden tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Maiden moves forwards but Glass connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Glass cracks Maiden with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glass lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
No luck for Maiden with that takedown attempt.

Maiden looks to land a right hand but Glass moved out of range.

Maiden has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Glass.

Maiden takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Maiden throws a leg kick but Glass sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Maiden tries for a takedown but Glass sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Maiden looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Glass. That's going to slow Maiden down.

Glass swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Maiden.
Glass feints and then cracks Maiden's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maiden down.

Eddy Maiden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Both fighters circling a little - Glass finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Glass throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Maiden on the side of the head.

Glass lands a good knee to the midsection. Maiden won't want to take too many of those.

Glass works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Glass lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Maiden.

Glass tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maiden misses with the ground and pound.
Maiden postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Maiden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Glass keeps working.
Maiden tries to score with some ground and pound. Glass controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Maiden is looking to take a break and control but Glass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Maiden in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Glass is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Maiden is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Glass will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Glass tries to bench press Maiden off him but Maiden keeps the position.
Glass on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Maiden is trying to get an arm triangle but Glass is defending well.
Glass is not content to let Maiden control the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Maiden working the body and head with strikes.
Eddy Maiden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Glass pushes Maiden away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maiden gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Glass is looking to regain half guard here but Maiden keeps moving and retains side control.
Glass sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Glass tries to roll over but Maiden keeps him under control.
Maiden is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Glass is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Glass manages to get to full guard.
Maiden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Glass is keeping the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Glass is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Maiden presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Glass.

And that's the end of the fight!
Desmond Glass showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Glass, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
