Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stipe Miocic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cory Dillon! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miocic ducks under a wild hook from Dillon. Dillon throws a hook but Miocic blocks it. Miocic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dillon defends it nicely. Dillon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Miocic finds it's way round the side to connect with Dillon's head.
It looks like Cory Dillon has been cut. Miocic takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Dillon looks to throw the jab but Miocic is out of range. Miocic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dillon is fending him off so far but Miocic persists. Nope, Dillon circles away and we're back to standing. Dillon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Miocics jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Dillon connects with the punch. Dillon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miocic to the mat! Miocic manages to get full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dillon is working Miocic over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dillon chips away with some ground and pound. Dillon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Miocic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dillon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dillon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dillon's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dillon is in close to Miocic's body, working some short punches and elbows. Dillon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dillon is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Miocic is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Miocic is rocked! Dillon gets to his feet and stands over Miocic, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Miocic felt that one! Dillon unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Miocic from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cory Dillon! Cory Dillon seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
