Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall has chosen Promentory as his entrance music. Michael James has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Randall! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James tries for a takedown but Randall sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Randall paws at him with a jab and circles away. James drives through with a takedown into guard. Randall managing to control the position. James throws a big elbow that misses. James has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. James sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. James throwing strikes but missing. James trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Randall trying to keep a closed guard but James is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Randall throws the kick towards the body but James avoids it. James wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Randall looks winded! Randall checks a leg kick nicely. James misses with a wild body shot. Randall drops down looking to force a counter takedown but James defends it well. Randall has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from James. James shoots in looking for a takedown but Randall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Randall throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Randall swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Randall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Randall is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Randall misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A counter left hand to the body from James misses its target. James has a takedown stuffed. James fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Randall circles away. James misses with a few strikes there.
Randall appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Randall throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
James moves into the clinch successfully.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Randall. James pulls guard successfully.
Randall avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Randall stands up from James's guard - Randall perhaps looking for a knockout. Randall rushes James and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Randall on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Randall is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but James is defending well. James tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Randall smiles and moves away.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Randall pinned against the cage. Randall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Randall leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dave Randall will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

James shoots in looking for a takedown but Randall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice takedown defense from James. No joy for Randall on that attempt. Michael James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Randall misses with a wild combination.
James looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ground and pound from James. James stops Randall from getting back to his feet.
Randall is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice strikes from James there. James keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nice strikes from James there. James trying to control the pace. James is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. James is trying to control. Randall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. James is looking to advance position but Randall won't allow it. James seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Randall swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Randall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Randall gets slowly back to his feet. James throws a big counter combination but Randall scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Randall is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Randall circles away and we're back to standing. James forces Randall back against the cage and clinches. James tries to land knees in the clinch but Randall avoids the damage to the body. James breaks from the clinch.
Randall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Randall closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage. A right handed body shot lands from James.
Randall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
James clinches with his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. James no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. James looking for subs off his back but Randall has passed one foot through into half guard.
Randall tries to pass to full mount but James defends it. James wants to control but Randall is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! James throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
James pushes Randall off looking to stand but Randall dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael James dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Randall closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage. Randall is fighting off a takedown attempt but James is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Randall to the mat. Randall regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. James lands a couple of elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Randall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Randall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Randall keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. James controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Randall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dave Randall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randall. James throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Randall. James cracks Randall with a good jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Randall takes a kick to the side of the head. Randall stuffs the takedown. Randall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Randall gets slowly back to his feet. Randall stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James doesn't succeed with the takedown and Randall counters by clinching up. Come on Randall - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
James tries to pull guard but Randall holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.

James fails with the takedown. James takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Randall shoots in looking for a takedown but James manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Randall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Randall gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James moves into range and clinches up with Randall. James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Randall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. James is looking to counter the offense by Randall and move into the clinch. James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Randall slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Randall forces James back against the cage and clinches. James looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. James is trying to pull guard but Randall turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. James tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael James. I think James has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
