The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpathia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Carpathia stuffs the takedown attempt from Hikohoma. Hikohoma gets slowly back to his feet.
Carpathia tries a head kick but it misses.
Hikohoma throws the kick towards the body but Carpathia avoids it.
Hikohoma throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hikohoma fails with a takedown attempt.
Crunch! Carpathia slams his shin into Hikohoma's torso.
Carpathia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carpathia is trying to ground and pound but Hikohoma uses the momentary lack of control by Carpathia to regain half guard.
Carpathia is looking to take a break and control but Hikohoma is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Carpathia drops back looking for a leg! Hikohoma is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hikohoma manages to kick Carpathia off! Carpathia jumps back into Hikohoma's guard.

and Carpathia holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Carpathia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hikohoma won't be happy with that.

Hikohoma drops back, looking for a kneebar! Carpathia looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carpathia looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carpathia!

Hikohoma throws a head kick but Carpathia moves out of range.
Carpathia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hikohoma sprawls well initially but Carpathia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
