Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ginekes Poutanes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keenan Cornelius! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Poutanes does it's job there.
It looks like Keenan Cornelius has been cut. Poutanes misses with a straight left. And Cornelius tries to counter it with a takedown but Poutanes pushes his down on his head and steps out. Cornelius on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Cornelius keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Poutanes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Poutanes lands with a shot to the body. Cornelius fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Poutanes throws a one two combo.
A decent looking cross lands there for Poutanes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Poutanes scores with a jab to the body. Cornelius goes for a double leg but Poutanes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Poutanes continues to drive forward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poutanes throws a shot to the body.
Cornelius looks winded! Poutanes lands with a good body shot. Cornelius with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Poutanes to score with a decent uppercut.
That has opened up Keenan Cornelius's cut even more. Poutanes scores with a jab to the jaw.
Cornelius is rocked! Poutanes lands a slapping body shot.
Poutanes jabs at Cornelius's body. Poutanes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cornelius takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Poutanes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cornelius sprawling to the canvas! Cornelius rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Poutanes finish him?!
Cornelius is still on wobbly legs! Can Poutanes finish him? Poutanes is looking to wear down Cornelius with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poutanes cracks a nice hook into Cornelius's ribs. Cornelius seems to have recovered his senses. Cornelius walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Poutanes! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
