0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Garcia! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by George. Garcia closes this distance looking for a takedown but George circles away. Garcia has a takedown stuffed. An attempted straight right counter from George misses the target. Garcia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. George is looking to counter the offense by Garcia and move into the clinch. Jon George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Garcia. Garcia misses with the combination.
A punch combination from George misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garcia tries to score a power double leg takedown but George sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garcia somewhat. Garcia tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but George moves out of range and avoids them all easily. It looked like George was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Garcia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but George was well out of range. Poor timing from Garcia. George tries to counter by clinching up but Garcia breaks away and moves out of range. Garcia fails with the takedown. George keeps the fight on the outside. George punishes Garcia's body with a nice straight punch. Garcia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. An attempted straight right counter from George misses the target. Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown. George tries to sprawl out of it but Garcia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. George manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. George jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. George closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Garcia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. George swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Garcia with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling George to score with a decent uppercut. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garcia. George is looking to counter punch. George digs a good hook to Garcia's body.
Garcia takes one to the chin there. This has been an exciting period of action! Garcia tries to clinch and George counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia fails with a takedown attempt. Garcia misses with a kick to the body and George counters with a left to the body. George throws a right and a left that both miss. Garcia with a poor takedown and George cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. George cracks a nice hook into Garcia's ribs. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by George!

Garcia dives in and grabs George's left leg, looking for a takedown. George pushes down on Garcia's head and hops out. George wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Garcia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around George's waist but George gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Garcia off to one side. Garcia looks winded! George fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Garcia shoots in for a double leg but George sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by George as he connects with a hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Garcia throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling George to counter with a crisp jab. Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown. George tries to sprawl out of it but Garcia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. George manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice uppercut there from George. George takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. George lands with a straight right. Garcia didn't see that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon George dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Garcia with a lazy takedown attempt and George counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Garcia has his takedown stuffed and George counters with a straight right hand. George cracks Garcia with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Garcia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. George was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Carlos Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. George throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
George lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Carlos Garcia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. George shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Garcia eats them both and turns towards George to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. George looks to land a combination but Garcia avoids it well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Garcia. Jon George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Garcia.

George tries to free his leg and advance position but Garcia is retaining full guard. George stays in close to Garcia's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garcia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Garcia is breathing heavily. George got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, George has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. George passes easily into side control. Nice work. George has knee on belly and moves into mount. George sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Garcia trying desperately to get to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. George controlling from the full mount. George's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. George is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garcia can do to turn this around?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Garcia tries to reverse the position but George maintains control. George takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon George dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Garcia tries to grapple but his opponent circles and George counters with a left and a right that stings Garcia. Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but George paws at him with a jab and circles away. George dips down and scores with a jab to the body. George throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Garcia stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Garcia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. George defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Garcia. It looked like George wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown and George connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Garcia is looking to chop away at George's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. George scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Horrible takedown attempt by Garcia or perhaps it was just good defense by George, which made it look bad. Jon George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Garcia. Garcia slips a jab and a cross from George.

George lands a head shot. Garcia darts in looking for a takedown but George gets double underhooks and turns Garcia into the cage. Garcia with a poor takedown and Garcia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A slapping body kick lands there for Garcia. George connects with a right hand. Garcia shakes it off. Jon George is winning the standup battle so far. The fighters circle momentarily. George darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

George jabs Garcia to the body, keeping him at a distance. George keeps the fight on the outside. Garcia tries to clinch and George connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Garcia wants to clinch but George slips to the side and George counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A shot to the body from Garcia misses and George counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

As Garcia tries to get set, George tries to push him back and clinch up but Garcia manages to avoid the attempt. Garcia takes a jab right on the kisser.
George looks to score with a jab to the body but Garcia is just out of range. A left lands for George. George tries to bum rush Garcia with a series of wild strikes but Garcia uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Garcia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and George counters with a lovely shot to the body. George fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Carlos Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! George blocks a leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon George showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for George, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
