Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crucifixio Capuccio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anders Hedberg! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capuccio shoots for a takedown but Hedberg saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hedberg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Capuccio counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hedberg won't be happy with that. Capuccio tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Capuccio has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Capuccio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hedberg knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hedberg manages to work his way to half guard, despite Capuccio's best efforts. Hedberg is trying to get back to full guard. Capuccio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hedberg is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Capuccio pulls his head out easily. Hedberg is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hedberg is defending against the submission attempts here by Capuccio.
Capuccio is breathing heavily. Hedberg is looking to control Capuccio's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hedberg avoid being mounted? Hedberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Capuccio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hedberg gets underhooks to prevent Capuccio's takedown attempt.

Hedberg fails with the takedown and Capuccio counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hedberg! Capuccio with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hedberg defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Capuccio. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capuccio working for a guillotine from mount but Hedberg is in no mood to give up. Hedberg's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Capuccio looking for a guillotine from mount but Hedberg is having none of it. Capuccio working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Capuccio looking for the choke from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Capuccio has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hedberg has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hedberg trying to control the position but Capuccio manages to sink in the hooks. Capuccio is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Hedberg has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Capuccio has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Hedberg taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Capuccio doesn't care though - he's delighted!
