Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Watchdog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendon Luke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watchdog has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Glenn Watchdog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendon Luke! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watchdog shoots in looking for a takedown. Luke tries to sprawl out of it but Watchdog keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Luke manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Watchdog throws a low kick, looking for Luke's leg but Luke calmly moves out of range. Watchdog looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Luke is fending him off so far but Watchdog persists. Nope, Luke circles away and we're back to standing. Some wild striking there from Luke.
Watchdog tries a head kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watchdog fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glenn Watchdog. That's going to take a lot out of him. Luke checks a leg kick nicely.

Watchdog clinches but Luke breaks the clinch and Luke counters with a stiff right hand. Luke clinches up against the cage. Luke is looking to break free of the clinch but Watchdog has double underhooks. Watchdog fails to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Watchdog seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Luke for as long as he can get away with. Watchdog slips a nice elbow through Luke's hands, connecting with Luke's forehead. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Watchdog in particular looking to stall. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Luke can do anything to dispel that myth. Luke taking some punishment here, with Watchdog in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Watchdog connects with a nice short shot to Luke's temple.

Watchdog is looking for a kimura but Luke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Watchdog to get the leverage. Watchdog seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Glenn Watchdog just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Watchdog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Luke throws out the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Watchdog dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A lazy body kick from Watchdog and Luke counters with a nice double leg into side control. Watchdog won't be happy with that. Watchdog manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Watchdog slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Watchdog manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Watchdog pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watchdog landing strikes from the mount. Watchdog looking to control and managing it successfully. The referee warns Luke that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Watchdog with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Watchdog stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Watchdog is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Luke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Watchdog tries to roll over but Luke keeps him under control.

Luke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Watchdog, up you get! Watchdog is looking to clinch but Luke is avoiding it.
Luke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Watchdog closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Luke has one foot on Watchdog's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Watchdog fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Luke sprawls well initially but Watchdog persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Watchdog in particular looking to stall. Luke makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Luke keeping moving, preventing Watchdog from controlling successfully. Luke wants to stand up but Watchdog is controlling him. Luke keeping full guard, as Watchdog tries to pass. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Watchdog waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Luke. Luke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Watchdog has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Luke's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Luke is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Watchdog slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Watchdog tightening his grip on Luke, looking for the choke. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Watchdog controls the action.
