Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adan Mcknight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giel De Winter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Winter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mcknight explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
De Winter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Mcknight gets tackled into the cage by De Winter. De Winter maintains the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mcknight just misses with a elbow thrown towards De Winter's brow.

Mcknight breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcknight.

Mcknight moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

De Winter gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Mcknight is trying to maintain the position but De Winter is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcknight is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

De Winter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcknight doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time De Winter.

De Winter wants to control but Mcknight is keeping him busy.

Mcknight wants to improve his position but De Winter is controlling well.

De Winter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A close round but Giel De Winter will probably get the nod.

Mcknight shoots in looking for a takedown. De Winter tries to sprawl out of it but Mcknight keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Winter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

De Winter dives in and scores a takedown into Mcknight's guard.
Mcknight is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcknight pulls De Winter in close to prevent any damage.
De Winter is breathing heavily.

Mcknight had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. De Winter defends it easily.

De Winter wants to pass to mount but Mcknight is defending the position.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for De Winter. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

De Winter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcknight has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mcknight tries to roll over but De Winter keeps him under control.
Mcknight is controlling De Winter's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Giel De Winter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mcknight gets caught napping as De Winter dives in and scores a takedown. Mcknight manages to retain guard.

De Winter looking to sit in guard and control but Mcknight gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mcknight trying to stand up but can't free himself from De Winter's guard.
De Winter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

De Winter has momentary wrist control but Mcknight slips an elbow through the middle.
De Winter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Giel De Winter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcknight closes the distance and pushes De Winter back into the cage.

De Winter has Mcknight pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. De Winter pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mcknight tumbling to the mat - De Winter dives into Mcknight's guard.
Giel De Winter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
De Winter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
