Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rosendo Hoover! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Storm! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoover tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Storm swivels and escapes. Storm leaves Hoover with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hoover backing away here, and Storm unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Hoover instigates a clinch. Storm blocks an uppercut.
Hoover lands an elbow that stopped Storm in his tracks for a moment. Hoover has had enough of the clinch but Storm keeps him there for the moment. Hoover escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoover circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hoover half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Storm drives through and clinches with Hoover against the cage.
Hoover misses with a knee to the head. Hoover is trying to break the clinch but Storm has him pressed against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Hoover's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hoover wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hoover is looking to break free of the clinch but Storm has double underhooks. Hoover creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Hoover with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Hoover can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rosendo Hoover. That's going to take a lot out of him. Storm prevents Hoover from breaking the clinch. Storm tries to pull guard but Hoover holds him up against the cage and eventually Storm drops back down to his feet.

Hoover content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Storm is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hoover is aware though and is defending well. Storm working for a triangle but Hoover defends it easily.

Storm is pulling down on Hoover's head. It's preventing any offense from Hoover, at least for the moment. Storm looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hoover has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hoover doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hoover manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hoover throwing strikes from guard but Storm blocks nicely. Hoover works over Storm with some ground and pound from guard. Hoover landing some decent shots from guard. Storm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hoover is trying to maintain the position but Storm is very close to passing his half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Storm wants to free his trapped foot but Hoover is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tommy Storm will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hoover really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. That's one minute gone in the round. Hoover won't allow Storm to get back to his feet. Storm bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hoover's guard. Storm pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hoover is keeping the position for now. Hoover is looking for a triangle but Storm pushes his legs off easily.
Storm looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Storm drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hoover dives on top into guard.
Storm throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hoover escapes and throws Storm's legs to the side, diving into side control! Hoover lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Storm down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoover creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Storm takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Hoover lands some shots froms side control. Hoover grinds an elbow into Storm's temple. Hoover scores with a couple of short elbows. Hoover in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Hoover landing a few strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Storm can't do much from the bottom here. Storm is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoover lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Storm is looking to reverse the position. Hoover scores with punches from side control. A bit of a lull in the action here. Storm wants to control but Hoover postures up. Hoover cracks Storm with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hoover is putting a hurting on Storm here, landing some big shots from side control. Storm takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoover lands a nice forearm strike. Hoover decides to stand back up. Hoover steps back and let's Storm get back to his feet. Storm moves into range and clinches up with Hoover. Hoover with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Hoover pulls guard. Storm passes Hoover's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Storm looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Storm seems to be working for a kimura but Hoover defends the submission attempt. Hoover tries to get to full guard but Storm has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rosendo Hoover dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Storm shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hoover is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Storm seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hoover does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoover trying to hold on to Storm's head to control him but Storm postures up.
Hoover tries to kick Storm off but Storm keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Storm frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Storm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hoover is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Storm fails to take his opponent's back. Storm looking to control but Hoover is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Storm pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Hoover tries to hold on but Storm pushes him away. Storm trying to control but Hoover is having none of it. Hoover is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Storm working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Hoover is squirming around, avoiding Storm's attempts to control the action. Storm looking to secure an arm triangle but Hoover defends it well. Hoover is wriggling around trying to escape.
Storm trying to control but he's not successful this time. Storm with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Storm moves to the back position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoover trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Hoover manages to reverse the position and now he's in Storm's guard. Nice work there by Hoover.
Hoover postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hoover postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Storm wants to sweep but no luck. Hoover with a nice head shot there. Hoover is in close to Storm's body, working some short punches and elbows. Storm not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Storm looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hoover passes into side control.
Storm takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Storm is looking to reverse the position. Hoover lands an elbow. Hoover will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hoover lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hoover working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Storm tries to buck Hoover off but Hoover is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Tommy Storm. I think Storm has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
