Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Potsy Van Poole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Poole avoids it really well and circles away.
Van Poole throws a hook but Jones blocks it.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A countering left hand to the body from Van Poole misses.
Jones blocks a jab.
Jones thuds his right hand into Van Poole's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jones scores with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones throws a leg kick which misses Van Poole's front leg but catches the back leg as Van Poole tries to avoid it.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.

Van Poole throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Potsy Van Poole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Poole, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Van Poole just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Van Poole as he jumps to the side.
Van Poole has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Van Poole counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Van Poole rushes Jones with punches - Jones moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Jones goes down! Van Poole follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
