Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Douglas (ranked 2447 p4p, 254 weight class) and Artur Kornik (ranked 4802 p4p, 434 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Artur Kornik enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lenny Douglas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Artur Kornik! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kornik. Douglas misses with a low kick. Douglas tries to land a front kick but Kornik steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kornik has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Douglas waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kornik. A lazy left from Douglas finds it's target. Kornik has a takedown stuffed. Douglas swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Douglas looks to land a combination but Kornik avoids it well. Kornik misses with a takedown and Douglas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lenny Douglas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artur Kornik. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Douglas throws a shot from downtown. Kornik moves away and avoids it. Douglas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kornik has time to react. Kornik gets a double leg takedown into Douglas's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kornik lands a couple of elbows. Kornik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kornik missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kornik trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Douglas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Douglas keeping moving, preventing Kornik from controlling successfully. Kornik is looking to work some ground and pound but Douglas has wrist control. Kornik postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kornik cracks Douglas with a solid left hand. Douglas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kornik is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Douglas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Douglas managing to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Douglas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Despite the aggression on Kornik's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Kornik tries for a takedown but Douglas circles away easily and Douglas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kornik fails with the takedown and Douglas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kornik shoots in looking for a takedown. Douglas tries to sprawl out of it but Kornik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Douglas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Douglas leaves Kornik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas scores with a jab to the head.
Kornik scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Douglas is looking to get back to is feet but Kornik passes into side control.
Douglas tries to bench press Kornik off him but Kornik keeps the position. Kornik working the head and body with strikes. Kornik grinds an elbow into Douglas's temple. Kornik is trying to get an arm triangle but Douglas is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kornik working the head with strikes. Douglas is letting Kornik control him for a moment. Kornik scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Douglas to see if he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Douglas holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Kornik in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Douglas is looking to reverse the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Douglas wants to control but Kornik postures up. Douglas gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Kornik looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Douglas is pressing down on Kornik's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Douglas looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kornik is in close to Douglas's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kornik trying to control but Douglas is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lenny Douglas dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kornik connects with the punch. Douglas lands with an overhand left. Douglas lands a slapping body shot.
Douglas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Douglas tries to move into range but Kornik moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. No luck for Kornik with that takedown attempt. Douglas tries to work over Kornik's front leg with a kick but Kornik checks it. Kornik tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Douglas defends well and Kornik ends up having to push Douglas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Douglas misses. Kornik shoots in and drives through. Douglas sprawls well. Douglas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kornik manages to avoid it. Douglas just misses with a punch to the body.
Douglas loads up on a big right hand but Kornik slips the punch. Kornik shoots in and drives through. Douglas sprawls well. It looked like Douglas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Nice shot by Douglas. Douglas throws a front kick aimed at Kornik's knee but Kornik avoids it well. Lenny Douglas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kornik shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Douglas is trying to defend but Kornik finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Douglas is holding on to half guard well. Douglas tries to get to full guard but Kornik has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Douglas controlling the position for now. Douglas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Douglas has his hands on Kornik's head, controlling the position. Kornik throws a big elbow that misses. Kornik trying to control the position from guard on top but Douglas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Douglas has his hands on Kornik's head, controlling the position. Artur Kornik has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kornik's guard. Douglas controls from within his opponent's guard. Kornik looking for a sweep. Not yet Kornik, not yet. Kornik is pulling down on Douglas's head. It's preventing any offense from Douglas, at least for the moment. Douglas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kornik holds on and takes a little breather.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kornik working a defensive guard here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Kornik takes one on the button. A looping hook to the body misses from Douglas. Kornik does a little dance to reset his feet. Douglas staying out of range there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kornik shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Douglas as he jumps to the side. Douglas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lenny Douglas dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Douglas scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Douglas lands a left and a right that send Kornik crashing to the mat, dazed. Douglas thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kornik is rocked! Kornik takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Kornik is still on wobbly legs! Can Douglas finish him? Douglas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kornik shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Douglas napping and manages to drive through into side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Douglas manages to get back to half guard. Kornik seems to have recovered his senses. Douglas wants to control but Kornik is keeping busy.
Douglas tries to kick Kornik off but Kornik keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kornik is stalling here. Douglas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kornik seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Douglas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Douglas controls the position. Douglas moves into full mount! Douglas content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas has control of Kornik's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kornik regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kornik manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kornik is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Douglas in particular looking to stall. Kornik is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Douglas keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Lenny Douglas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kornik tries to get to full guard but Douglas has control of the leg. Kornik is trying to control but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lenny Douglas is winning the standup battle so far. Kornik will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Douglas lands a nice shot to the body.
Kornik displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Douglas throws out the jab. Kornik fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. It looked like Douglas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Douglas misses with a wild combination.

Douglas clobbers Kornik with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kornik. Lenny Douglas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artur Kornik. Douglas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kornik. Kornik has his takedown stuffed and Douglas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kornik throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Douglas tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kornik is in Douglas's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Kornik won't allow Douglas to sweep him here. Douglas has momentary wrist control but Kornik slips an elbow through the middle. Artur Kornik has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Douglas controlling Kornik's posture.
And that's the end of the fight! Lenny Douglas showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Douglas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
