0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karlis Samsons! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkerson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Samsons drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wilkerson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Samsons has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Wilkerson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Wilkerson throws a body kick that misses and Samsons makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Samsons misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Valentine Wilkerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlis Samsons. Wilkerson wants to clinch. Despite the aggression on Samsons's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samsons looks to land a combination. Wilkerson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Valentine Wilkerson has been cut. Wilkerson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Samsons swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wilkerson gets tackled into the cage by Samsons. Samsons maintains the clinch. Samsons is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Wilkerson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Samsons has taken the fight to the clinch.

Samsons tries to score a body lock takedown but Wilkerson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Samsons just leaning against Wilkerson, taking a breather. Karlis Samsons dominated that round. The cut man is working on Valentine Wilkerson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Samsons doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wilkerson counters with a three punch combo that has Samsons backing up. Samsons nods at Wilkerson to acknowledge the strikes. Wilkerson looks to land a combination. Samsons sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Samsons tries to pull guard but Wilkerson forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Samsons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wilkerson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Samsons has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wilkerson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Valentine Wilkerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlis Samsons. Samsons's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Samsons. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Samsons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Samsons shoots for a takedown but Wilkerson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Samsons is breathing heavily. Samsons fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Karlis Samsons seems to be getting the better of the standup. Samsons blocks a head kick by Wilkerson.

Wilkerson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Samsons defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilkerson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wilkerson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Samsons is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Karlis Samsons will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Samsons goes for a takedown attempt but Wilkerson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wilkerson closes the distance and pushes Samsons back into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilkerson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Samsons pulls him back up using the underhooks. Samsons wants to take the fight to the mat but Wilkerson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Samsons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
