Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Stevens ! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens throws a series of strikes that have Anderson backpedaling.
Stevens will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Anderson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Anderson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Stevens . Stevens cracks Anderson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Stevens uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Anderson has time to react. Anderson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Stevens scores with a nice strike. Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stevens cracks Anderson with a right hand to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stevens looks to score with a jab to the body but Anderson is just out of range. Stevens connects with a leg kick. Anderson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Anderson there as he acknowledges the shot. Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt and Anderson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Stevens lands a nice shot to the body.
Stevens scores with a sloppy right hand. Anderson should have avoided that one. Nice cross by Stevens . Anderson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Stevens lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The fight stays on the outside here - Stevens looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Anderson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stevens . Stevens is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Anderson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevens changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Stevens thuds his right hand into Anderson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stevens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stevens fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Anderson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Stevens is looking to clinch but Anderson is avoiding it.
Anderson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Stevens lands a lovely overhand right. Stevens wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance. Stevens throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anderson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Stevens ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Jay Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stevens throws a head kick that misses and Anderson moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Stevens misses with a short punch on the inside. Anderson breaks from the clinch.
Stevens tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Anderson attempts a counter takedown but Stevens avoids it well and moves away. Anderson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Stevens scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Stevens uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stevens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anderson feinted with a counter takedown. Stevens scores with a jab to the head.

and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Anderson. Stevens trying to stall but Anderson improves his position.
Stevens tries to land a knee to the head but Anderson blocks with his arms.
The referee is keeping an eye on Anderson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Anderson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Stevens up against the cage. Stevens tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Jay Stevens dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Anderson jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Stevens . Anderson attempts a counter takedown but Stevens avoids it well and moves away. Anderson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Stevens is looking to clinch. A counter left hand to the body from Anderson misses its target. Stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Stevens lands a jab to the nose. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevens tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Anderson feinted with a counter takedown. Stevens fails to land with a series of punches.

Stevens has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Anderson is stalling here.

Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Anderson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Anderson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stevens . Stevens gets in close and instigates a clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Stevens is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Anderson is keeping busy. Stevens taking a breather. Stevens misses with a knee strike.
Stevens tries to work over Anderson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Stevens misses with a hook from the clinch. Stevens tries to land knees in the clinch but Anderson avoids the damage to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anderson avoiding damage as Stevens throws knees to the body.

Stevens feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Anderson's calf. Nice uppercut there from Stevens . Stevens tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it. It looked like Anderson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Stevens . The fight stays on the outside here - Stevens looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stevens scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Stevens tries to land a leg kick but Anderson saw it coming and moves away.

Anderson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Stevens wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance. Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Anderson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stevens . Stevens wants to clinch. Anderson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Stevens lands the left hand. Anderson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stevens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stevens lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Good work by Anderson as he checks the leg kick. Anderson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Stevens wants to clinch. Anderson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Stevens throws a head kick that misses so Anderson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Anderson wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Anderson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Stevens looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Anderson is defending well. Stevens quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Anderson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stevens celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
