Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miro Bang (ranked 1075 p4p, 157 weight class) and Rodney Garcia (ranked 1872 p4p, 284 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rodney Garcia enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Miro Bang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Garcia wants it to stay on the feet.
Garcia lands with a hook. Bang tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Garcia throws an overhand right that lands on Bang's shoulder, as Bang tries to avoid the shot.
Garcia connects with a body shot that sends Bang's belly button to the back.
Bang blocks a jab.
Bang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Garcia's waist but Garcia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bang off to one side.
Garcia lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Bang ducks under a wild hook from Garcia.
Bang takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Bang moves out of range easily.
Bang looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garcia napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Garcia struggling a bit here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bang works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bang looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Garcia is looking for a sweep.

Bang working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Garcia is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bang off and has taken his back!
Bang tries to escape the position.
Bang prevents Garcia from getting a body triangle.
Can Bang hold on?! Garcia is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Garcia has the hooks in. Bang is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Bang takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Garcia gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Bang is trying to break free.
Bang turns into Garcia and is now in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bang content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Bang passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Garcia struggling a bit here.

Bang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garcia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Garcia is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bang off and has taken his back!
What can Bang do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Bang is really stuck here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Garcia working for a choke but Bang is defending well.
Bang rolls, trying to escape but Garcia keeps control of the position.

Garcia landing with strikes.
Garcia struggling to keep hold of the position.
Garcia lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Bang.
You can see the frustration on Bang's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Bang turns into Garcia and is now in his guard.

Garcia is looking for a triangle but Bang pushes his legs off easily.
Bang lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bang working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The strikes coming from Bang are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Bang is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Garcia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bang lands a few punches from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Garcia parries the strikes from Bang easily there. Bang is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Garcia to escape.
Bang working away.
Bang tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bang wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Garcia, who protects the arm well.
Bang tries to score with some ground and pound. Garcia controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Garcia is trying to improve his position.

Bang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Bang in the domination position with Garcia hanging on.
Garcia is trying to control Bang's posture but Bang avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Miro Bang will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Garcia rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bang counters with a nice uppercut.
Garcia connects with a single shot there.
Bang checks a leg kick nicely.
Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Bang moves out of range easily.
A head kick by Garcia misses
and Garcia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bang tries for a takedown but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bang misses with a low kick.
Garcia misses with a lunging right hand

and Bang counters by moving into the clinch.

Bang pulls guard.

Bang looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bang is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Garcia's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Garcia lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bang throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Garcia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Garcia has managed to get both his arms back between Bang's legs - danger averted.

Garcia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bang has momentary wrist control but Garcia slips an elbow through the middle.
Garcia trying to control but Bang is working from the bottom.

Garcia keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bang's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcia postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Bang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Garcia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Garcia lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Garcia is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Garcia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Garcia trying to control but Bang is working from the bottom.

Bang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Garcia is aware though and is defending well.

Bang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garcia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bang throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Garcia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garcia postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Bang keeps moving.
Garcia working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bang's head.

Garcia has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bang to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Garcia is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bang pulls down on the head and he's put Garcia to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Miro Bang!
