Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Grishin (ranked 2447 p4p, 360 weight class) and Pedro Rodrigues Filho (ranked 1570 p4p, 236 weight class). Grishin comes into the arena with Danger blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Viktor Grishin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pedro Rodrigues Filho!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Filho clinches.
Filho throws a head punch that misses.
Filho is trying to push Grishin away but Grishin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Grishin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Filho throws a poor cross that misses
and Grishin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Filho rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Grishin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Pedro Rodrigues Filho has been cut.
Grishin moves out of range as Filho strikes.
Grishin throws a big counter combination but Filho scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Grishin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Filho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Filho has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Grishin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Grishin throws out a loose jab but Filho uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Filho counters with a straight right hand.
Pedro Rodrigues Filho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Grishin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Filho throws a jab but it's blocked by Grishin.

Filho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Grishin.

Grishin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Grishin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Filho's knee momentarily.
Filho has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Filho throws the left hand but Grishin avoids the punch easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Grishin will probably get the nod.

Grishin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Filho can do to turn this around?

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Grishin, as that shot connected.

Grishin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Grishin keeps Filho at a distance using the push kick.
Filho throws an overhand right that lands on Grishin's shoulder, as Grishin tries to avoid the shot.

Grishin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Grishin wants to free his trapped foot but Filho is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Grishin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Grishin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Grishin is trying to control the action in half guard but Filho is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

A little feinted left hand from Grishin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

A quick step to the side and Grishin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looked like Grishin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Grishin shoots for a double leg takedown but Filho sprawls well. He's pushed Grishin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As Filho backs away, Grishin returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Viktor Grishin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Grishin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

I would just about give that final round to Pedro Rodrigues Filho.
I think Grishin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
