Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Dantes (ranked 3626 p4p, 397 weight class) and Numero Deux (ranked 7972 p4p, 694 weight class). Deux comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Post Party Depression kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Dantes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Numero Deux!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dantes with a nice cross.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dantes.
Deux lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Deux.


It looks like Marcus Dantes has been cut.
Deux fails in his attempt to clinch.
Deux moves forwards but Dantes connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Deux lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dantes circles away quickly and effectively.
Dantes misses with a few strikes there.
Deux has a takedown stuffed.
Dantes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Deux rushes Dantes and presses him up against the cage.

Dantes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Deux fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dantes, pushing him back against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Deux.

Dantes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deux throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dantes.
Deux tries to clinch up.
Dantes changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
Dantes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Deux's efforts to push away.
Dantes presses Deux against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Dantes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dantes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Numero Deux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deux tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dantes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Deux will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dantes wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Deux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As Deux looks to move away, Dantes throws a big counter combo but Deux just gets out of the way.
Dantes works over Deux's head and body with a nice combination.
Dantes pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Deux back to the cage. Dantes follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Deux throws a lazy right hand but Dantes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Deux misses with a wild body shot.
Dantes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Deux.
Dantes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Deux throws a series of punches but Dantes moves out of range.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dantes.
Deux misses with a looping left.
Dantes lands a nice hook to Deux's body. Deux takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Dantes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dantes jabs Deux right on the nose. Deux blinks but takes it well.

No joy there for Deux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dantes just misses with a punch to the body.
Deux tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dantes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Deux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Dantes counters with a takedown into side control.
Deux is looking to regain half guard here but Dantes keeps moving and retains side control.

Dantes is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dantes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dantes decides to stand back up. Dantes steps back and let's Deux get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dantes breaks from the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dantes can't get the takedown.
Dantes lands a right hand that snaps the head of Deux backwards.

Dantes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deux misses with a two punch combination.
Deux wants to clinch.
Dantes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Deux tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dantes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Deux shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dantes as he jumps to the side.
Marcus Dantes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Numero Deux.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The crowd cheers as Deux lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dantes doesn't seem phased though.

Dantes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Deux's head.
Dantes feints a jab promting Deux to slip. Dantes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Deux slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Dantes lands a nice hook to Deux's body. Deux takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Deux throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Deux's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Deux is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dantes with a body shot.

Deux has closed the distance and engaged Dantes in a clinch.
Dantes prevents Deux from breaking the clinch.
Deux doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Deux tries to break the clinch but Dantes is controlling the position.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dantes here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Dantes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Deux can do to turn this around?

Deux tries to bum rush Dantes with a series of wild strikes but Dantes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Deux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dantes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

and Deux counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Dantes looks to land a combination but Deux avoids it well.

Deux ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dantes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Deux in his tracks.
Deux has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dantes.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dantes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dantes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Deux is still on wobbly legs! Can Dantes finish him?
Deux tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dantes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circling - Deux throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Deux walks straight into a right hand from Dantes - that's dropped him! Dantes jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Deux from any more punishment! Deux complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Marcus Dantes!
Marcus Dantes looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Fuck off.'.
Numero Deux was interviewed post fight and said 'Tell me when the fire dies down... What the F will you do?!?!'.
