Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Vicente Thornton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Strange!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Thornton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Strange is fending him off so far but Thornton persists. Nope, Strange circles away and we're back to standing.
Strange feints the counter takedown.
Strange looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thornton closes the distance and clinches up with Strange, looking for a takedown. Thornton pushes Strange against the cage but Strange circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Strange wants to counter with a clinch but Thornton pushes him away.
Strange should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thornton misses with a takedown attempt - Strange sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Thornton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thornton shoots for a double leg takedown but Strange sprawls well. He's pushed Thornton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Thornton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strange defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thornton.
And Strange tries to counter it with a takedown but Thornton pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Thornton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Strange is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Strange counters with a single leg into guard. Thornton didn't expect that.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Strange is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thornton darts in looking for a takedown but Strange gets double underhooks and turns Thornton into the cage.
A countering left hand to the body from Strange misses.

Thornton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Thornton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Strange has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Thornton but great work by Strange.

Strange looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Thornton is doing well to control the position and prevent Strange from advancing to side control.
Strange wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thornton keeps working.
Vicente Thornton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Strange looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Thornton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Strange is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Strange maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Thornton could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Strange has cracked it and Thornton is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Strange!
