Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Redfield (ranked 1144 p4p, 142 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 2012 p4p, 234 weight class). Redfield comes to the cage accompanied by False Alarm. Black is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by La Internacional. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

39 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Redfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Black! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black shoots in for a double leg but Redfield sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Redfield misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Black looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Redfield went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Redfield smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Matt Black has been cut. Black swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Black lands an overhand right. Redfield smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chris Redfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redfield tries to land a body kick and Black counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Redfield thinking. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Black misses with a hook to the body
and Redfield counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That has opened up Matt Black's cut even more. Redfield throws a body shot but no joy. Redfield throws a hook but Black blocks it. Redfield swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Black counters with a two punch combo. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Redfield misses the shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black lands with a nice body punch. Black fails to land with a series of punches.
Redfield ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Black moves away. Redfield swings for the body but Black moves out of range.
Redfield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Redfield throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease. Redfield seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Black throws a series of punches but Redfield moves out of range. Black scores with a decent looking hook. Redfield showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Black.
Black throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Black. Chris Redfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Black.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice shot lands for Black. Black fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Redfield avoids the body shot from Black.
Redfield misses with a jab, cross combination.
A countering left hand to the body from Black misses. Redfield throws a combination that misses and Redfield takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Black scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Redfield is breathing heavily. Redfield tests Black's chin there with a solid looking shot. Black scores with a hook to the body. Redfield takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Black has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Black fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Black is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Redfield rather than just go for the knockout. Redfield takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Black jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut there from Black. Redfield moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Black dances in with a quick combination. Redfield is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Black snaps Redfield's head back. Redfield stumbles backwards against the cage. Black steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Redfield's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Redfield just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Matt Black! Our winner, Matt Black, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. The defeated Chris Redfield had this to say: 'The End is Near. No Scratch that, I think it's here.'.
