The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carofilho throws a hook but Mitchell blocks it.

Mitchell shoots in and bounces Carofilho off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mitchell throws a strike but Carofilho rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mitchell tries to clinch but Carofilho moves out of range.
Carofilho closes the distance and clinches up with Mitchell, looking for a takedown. Carofilho pushes Mitchell against the cage but Mitchell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mitchell tightens his grip and picks Carofilho up, before dumping him to the ground. Carofilho manages to land in guard.

Mitchell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carofilho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mitchell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
