Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neo Wiggin (ranked 2197 p4p, 343 weight class) and Leandro Jones (ranked 3194 p4p, 450 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neo Wiggin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leandro Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiggin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Wiggin tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wiggin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wiggin, as that shot connected.

Jones throws the left hand but Wiggin avoids the punch easily.
Wiggin cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wiggin lands with a kick to the temple. Jones shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Wiggin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.
Wiggin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wiggin's half guard.

Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jones decides to stand up.
Jones lands with a hook. Wiggin tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Wiggin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jones let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Wiggin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.

Wiggin closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wiggin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Wiggin.

A jab-cross combination lands for Jones and sends Wiggin crashing to the mat! Jones follows him down to the mat - Wiggin regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Oh Wiggin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wiggin defends it well.
Wiggin seems to have got his legs back now.
Wiggin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Neo Wiggin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wiggin throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wiggin.

Wiggin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Jones throws a right hand that Wiggin ducks under and follows up with a left that Wiggin also avoids with ease.

It looked like Wiggin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Wiggin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Wiggin, which made it look bad.

Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Wiggin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
