Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Harding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Harding!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ellis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ellis trying to control the position but Harding is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis decides to stand back up.
Harding blocks a head kick by Ellis.
It looked like Harding was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Harding takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Joel Harding has been cut.

Ellis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ellis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Harding is looking for a sweep. Ellis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harding is trying to stand back up but Ellis is controlling him

Ellis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harding does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ellis drives through with a takedown into Harding's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ellis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Harding has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ellis is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Ellis clinches up with Harding and pushes him back against the cage.
Harding could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ellis decides to pull guard.
Harding in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Harding has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ellis is proving hard to escape from.
Harding prevents Ellis from getting back to his feet.
Ellis is pulling down on Harding's head. It's preventing any offense from Harding, at least for the moment.
Ellis looking for a sweep. Not yet Ellis, not yet.
Harding might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ellis is trying to control the position but Harding postures up.
Ellis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harding is controlling him.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ellis controls Harding momentarily but Harding frees himself.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Ellis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Harding pushes Ellis off looking to stand but Ellis dives back in and keeps control.
Harding is refusing to be controlled, as Ellis sits in half guard.
Harding wants to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis is taking a breather. Harding says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Harding is trying to stand up here but Ellis is controlling him well.
Ellis looks to land a strike but Harding avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Ellis wants to control from the top but Harding keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ellis instigates a clinch.

Ellis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ellis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ellis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Harding is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Ellis laying and praying for a moment but Harding takes advantage and regains half guard.
Harding on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Ellis is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Harding still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Harding has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Ellis parries the strikes from Harding easily there. Harding is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ellis to escape.

Harding throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Ellis looks to move to half guard but instead Harding has passed into mount! Damn!
Ellis regains half guard.
Harding is thwarting Ellis's attempts to control the position.

Harding decides to stand and escape the position.

Ellis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Harding!
Ellis is breathing heavily.
Harding is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harding tries to bench press Ellis off him but Ellis keeps the position.
Ellis trying to control the position but Harding is working away.
Ellis looking to control but instead Harding has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Ellis is looking to take a break and control but Harding is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Harding slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ellis is looking to pass into half guard but Harding pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Harding is in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joel Harding will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Ellis takes the fight into the clinch.
Harding is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ellis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Ellis gets control of Harding's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ellis will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ellis tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ellis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Harding wants to get back to his feet.
Ellis working over Harding with some ground and pound. Harding looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ellis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harding with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ellis gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Ellis shoots in and bounces Harding off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Harding wants to stand but Ellis is controlling the position.
Harding keeping moving, preventing Ellis from controlling successfully.
Ellis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harding is keeping the position for now.
Ellis is looking to advance position but Harding has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Ellis tries to hold on but Harding pushes him away.
Ellis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Harding lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Ellis is trying desperately to improve position.
Harding has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ellis's face.

Ellis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Harding landing shots from mount.
Harding lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ellis hang on?
Harding landing punches.
Ellis taking shots to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harding moves to take his opponent's back.
Harding scores with punches and elbows.
Harding lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Harding has the hooks in. Ellis is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
