Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darnell Newman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Goliath!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Newman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Newman lands in his opponent's guard.
Newman throws a big right hand that misses.

Goliath throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Newman is working Goliath over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Newman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Newman is fighting to break Goliath's control of his arms but Goliath is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Newman lands a couple of digs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newman stopping the sweep attempt from Goliath.
Newman throws a strike but Goliath rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Newman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goliath works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Goliath is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Goliath working the head and body with strikes.
Newman tries to roll over but Goliath keeps him under control.
Goliath wants to control but Newman is keeping him busy.
Newman has his hands clasped together around Goliath's back. He's all about the action.
Newman trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Goliath tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Newman tries to lock up and control but Goliath gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Goliath looking for a guillotine from mount but Newman is having none of it.
Newman can't escape the position.
Newman wants to hold on but Goliath pushes him away.

Goliath quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Goliath but it's paid off an Newman is forced to tap! Nice work by Goliath.
