Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Petersen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brad Gibson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Don Petersen! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson misses with a head kick.
A punch combination from Petersen misses. Petersen missing with a left hand there. Gibson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Brad Gibson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petersen misses with an uppercut. Gibson saw that one coming. Petersen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gibson. Petersen throws the left hand but Gibson avoids the punch easily. Gibson appears to be looking for a big counter. A low kick from Gibson is predictable there and Petersen counters with a nice double leg into guard. Petersen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gibson striking off his back but it's not causing Petersen any problems. Petersen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gibson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gibson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gibson seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petersen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Petersen forces his way into half guard. Gibson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Petersen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Gibson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Petersen has cracked it and Gibson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Petersen!
