Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Silva (ranked 1380 p4p, 202 weight class) and Splash Wetness (ranked 3166 p4p, 411 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Architects-Doomsday blaring out of the sound system. Wetness has chosen Pump Up The Jam- Technotronic as his entrance music. Richard Silva had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Splash Wetness! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wetness moves into the clinch. Silva tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wetness crunches a lovely knee into Silva's ribcage. Wetness trying to stall but Silva improves his position.
Wetness will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage. Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wetness can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Wetness looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wetness manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Silva is working for takedown but Wetness is calmly controlling the position for now. Wetness throws a knee to the head but misses.
Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wetness after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wetness tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Silva is working for takedown but Wetness is calmly controlling the position for now. Let's see if he can advance position further. Wetness kicks Silva off and gets back to his feet. Splash Wetness is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva tightens his grip and picks Wetness up, before dumping him to the ground. Wetness manages to land in guard. Wetness manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wetness is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Silva wants a takedown.

Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wetness tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Wetness's guard. Wetness told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva stops Wetness from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Splash Wetness dominated that round. The cut man is working on Richard Silva's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wetness pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch. Silva turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Silva manages to end up in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wetness, who protects the arm well. Silva goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wetness rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Silva's guard! Nice work there by Wetness! Silva looking for a guillotine here but Wetness defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wetness stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wetness tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it. Richard Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva throws a body kick that misses. Wetness has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wetness is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Silva looks to land a right hand but Wetness moved out of range. Silva sets himself, and Wetness steps forward looking for the clinch! Silva avoids it this time. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wetness pinned against the cage. Wetness gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wetness tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A little feinted left hand from Silva on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard. Wetness manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wetness tries to clinch up. Silva throwing a counter right hand but Wetness manages to avoid it. Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard. Wetness pushes Silva off and scrambles back to his feet.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wetness as he jumps to the side. Silva throws a lazy right hand but Wetness sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Wetness is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Wetness, which made it look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wetness moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. Wetness takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Silva goes for a double leg but Wetness avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wetness continues to drive forward. Wetness is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Wetness. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wetness throws a nice outside leg kick. Wetness lands a two punch combo.

Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? Silva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wetness if he has to take too many more of those.

Wetness kicks off Silva and gets to his feet. Silva drops Wetness with a right and a left! Silva comes rushing in but Wetness regains his composure and manages to keep Silva in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richard Silva. I think Wetness has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
