Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Boryska (ranked 5555 p4p, 675 weight class) and Tumleh Schmitt (ranked 7782 p4p, 789 weight class). Tumleh Schmitt is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Piotr Boryska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tumleh Schmitt! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmitt instigates a clinch. Boryska pulls guard successfully.
Boryska wants to sweep but no luck. Schmitt trying to control but Boryska is working from the bottom. Schmitt tries to free his leg and advance position but Boryska is retaining full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Boryska holds on and takes a little breather. Schmitt with a flurry of punches that miss. Schmitt trying to control the position from guard on top but Boryska is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schmitt stands up and waves to Boryska to follow him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmitt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schmitt showed some decent athleticism there. Schmitt throws a strike but Boryska avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boryska is pulling down on Schmitt's head to control his posture. Boryska is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Schmitt wants to control from the top but Boryska keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schmitt drops back looking for a leg! Boryska is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boryska manages to kick Schmitt off! Schmitt jumps back into Boryska's guard. Boryska has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Schmitt off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Schmitt looks to land a combination but Boryska avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boryska connects with an inside leg kick. Boryska shoots in for a double leg but Schmitt sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Schmitt dives in and grabs Boryska's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boryska pushes down on Schmitt's head and hops out. Schmitt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Boryska tries to keep at a distance but Schmitt has taken the fight into the clinch. Schmitt pulls guard effortlessly. Boryska wants to pass the guard but Schmitt is keeping the position. Schmitt looking to control.
Boryska postures up in Schmitt's guard and throws a big left but Schmitt blocks it. Boryska wants to control from the top but Schmitt keeps moving. Boryska has gone for a leg lock! Schmitt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Boryska's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Boryska striking off his back but it's not causing Schmitt any problems.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmitt looking to pass the guard. Boryska is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Schmitt trying to control but Boryska is working from the bottom. Schmitt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boryska has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schmitt has managed to get both his arms back between Boryska's legs - danger averted. Boryska looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schmitt is one step ahead there. Schmitt trying to control the position from guard on top but Boryska is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boryska is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Boryska decides to pull guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boryska tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schmitt advances position into side control! Schmitt is looking to take a break and control but Boryska is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boryska tries to strike but it doesn't land. Schmitt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Boryska avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Schmitt. Boryska is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Schmitt's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Boryska is not content to let Schmitt control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Piotr Boryska will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Schmitt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schmitt wants it to stay on the feet. Schmitt feints the counter takedown. Boryska shoots for a double leg takedown but Schmitt sprawls well. He's pushed Boryska's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Schmitt tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Boryska gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schmitt to score an easy takedown into full guard. Schmitt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boryska has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schmitt has managed to get both his arms back between Boryska's legs - danger averted. Schmitt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Boryska keeping moving, preventing Schmitt from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmitt preventing the sweep. Schmitt wants to stand and escape but instead Boryska has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Schmitt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boryska postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Schmitt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Boryska is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Schmitt's half guard. Schmitt is trying to maintain the position but Boryska is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Schmitt manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boryska sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schmitt's guard. Schmitt is trying to control but can't.
Boryska is working for a submission of some sort.
Boryska perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Schmitt is trying to get back to full guard. Boryska throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Boryska landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Schmitt regains full guard. Nicely done. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schmitt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boryska not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Boryska won't allow Schmitt to sweep him here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Schmitt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boryska thows a body kick. Schmitt tries to catch it but that hurt him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Piotr Boryska will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Schmitt closes the distance and clinches up with Boryska, looking for a takedown. Schmitt pushes Boryska against the cage but Boryska circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Piotr Boryska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schmitt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Boryska counters with a nice low kick that buckles Schmitt's knee momentarily. Schmitt avoids the head kick by Boryska.
Boryska shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schmitt but Schmitt pushes him off and we're back to square one. Boryska closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schmitt to the mat! Schmitt manages to get full guard. Schmitt has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Boryska is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Boryska prevents the takedown attempt.
Boryska lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Schmitt jumps guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Boryska trying to control but Schmitt is working from the bottom. Schmitt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Boryska throws a sloppy strike and Schmitt has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Boryska is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Schmitt!
