The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takano just misses with a punch to the body.

Machado gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Takano with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Takano working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Machado tries a body shot but Takano blocks it.
Machado misses with a punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Takano.
Takano tries to throw a body punch but Machado avoids it by throwing Takano back against the cage.
Takano scores with a knee to the head.

It looks like Ricardo Machado has been cut.
Takano has a couple of punches blocked by Machado.
Machado misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Takano makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Takano misses with a punch to the body.
Machado trying to control the position but instead, Takano has worked for underhooks and has pushed Machado into the cage.
Takano throws a knee to the head but misses.

Takano presses Machado against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Takano lands a hook that snaps the head of Machado backwards.
Takano works on Machado's body with a couple of short punches.
Machado misses with a hook to the ribs.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Machado.
Machado misses with a short punch on the inside.

Takano's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Takano throws a front kick that sends Machado stumbling back into the cage.
Machado looks winded!

Takano moves into the clinch.

Takano pushes Machado back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Takano creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Takano can't find room to land a body shot as Machado controls the action.

Takano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A solid leg kick lands there for Takano.
Machado takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Takano stuns Machado with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Donk. Takano catches Machado right on the button with a cross.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Takano buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ricardo Machado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takano cracks Machado with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Takano has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Machado to stand back up!

That has opened up Ricardo Machado's cut even more.

Machado circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Takano. Machado falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Takano!
