The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khakhold jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gold takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Khakhold fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Khakhold looks to score with a jab to the body but Gold is just out of range.
Gold lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gold misses with a straight right.
Gold jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Khakhold misses with an uppercut. Gold saw that one coming.
Khakhold throws an overhand right that lands on Gold's shoulder, as Gold tries to avoid the shot.

Gold tries to close the distance and clinch up but Khakhold swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been informed that Gold has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

That was a close round but I would say that Dixie Pablo Khakhold will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

I was talking to Khakhold's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Khakhold is working for takedown but Gold is calmly controlling the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A quick step to the side and Khakhold tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Liquid Gold seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Gold is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Khakhold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gold tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Khakhold is in Gold's guard.

Khakhold has gone for a leg lock! Gold slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khakhold's guard.

Gold is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Khakhold has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gold is looking to defend but Khakhold has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gold! Khakhold pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gold taps out and this one is all over!
