PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nakki Fakiiri (ranked 306 p4p, 38 weight class) and Kay Ector (ranked 411 p4p, 51 weight class). Fakiiri kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Arch Enemy - You Will Know My Name. Ector has chosen Monster! as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kay Ector was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ector misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ector tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fakiiri was well out of range. Poor timing from Ector.
Fakiiri is looking to counter the offense by Ector and move into the clinch.

Fakiiri breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fakiiri definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ector fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Fakiiri on the side of the head.

Ector's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Fakiiri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ector scrambles back to his feet.

Fakiiri is rocked!
Ector dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Fakiiri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fakiiri is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ector.
A little jabbing left from Ector on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Fakiiri seems to have got his legs back now.

Ector has closed the distance and engaged Fakiiri in a clinch.
Ector wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fakiiri breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A cross from Ector lands.
Fakiiri with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ector to score with a decent uppercut.

Ector takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Kay Ector has been cut.
Ector scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ector tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fakiiri paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A lazy left from Fakiiri finds it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ector throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fakiiri.
Ector doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ector stuns Fakiiri with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Ector is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Fakiiri had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ector fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fakiiri manages to avoid it.
Ector throws a looping overhand right but Fakiiri ducks down to avoid it.

Ector rushes Fakiiri and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kay Ector seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ector steps in with a hook that catches Fakiiri right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Ector follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Fakiiri looks absolutely devastated.
