PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and josh green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Head might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cant Be Touched. Dick Head has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but green paws at him with a jab and circles away.
green should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nice sprawl there from Head as green shoots in.
Head just misses with a punch to the body.
Head will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Head is looking to clinch.
Head pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and green counters with a single leg into guard. Head didn't expect that.
Head wants to sweep here but green controlling him for the moment.
Head manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. green manages to get himself to full guard.

Head stands up over green, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Head lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Head missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Head knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for green on the ground.

Head postures up in green's guard and throws a big left but green blocks it.
Head will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
green drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Head closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Head lands in his opponent's guard.
Head is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Head pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. green is keeping the position for now.

green has a closed guard, preventing Head from standing up.
Head in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Head with a flurry of punches that miss.

Headis looking to pass into half guard but green pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now green is in guard.

green drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Head manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now green has Head in his guard.
Head trying to control but green is working from the bottom.
green has momentary wrist control but Head slips an elbow through the middle.

Head is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by green.
Head wants to clinch but green slips to the side

and green counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Head's guard now.
Head looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Head is striking from the bottom but green uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Head manages to get to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

green drops back looking for a leg! Head is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Head manages to kick green off! green jumps back into Head's guard.
Head looking to hit a scissor sweep but green is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Head is working hard here to advance position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Head is on top in guard.

Head keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of green's head.
Head throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Head is looking to stand up but green won't let him.

Head gets to his feet. green looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Head tries to roll over but green keeps him under control.
Head wants to get back to full guard but green has passed into side control.
Head is looking to get to half guard.
Head is trying to reverse the position but instead green has taken his back - oops!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Head tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and green decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Head's guard.
Head looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Head wants to hit a switch here but green passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Head there!

Head wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Head rolls, trying to escape but green keeps control of the position.
josh green has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

green has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Head! Can he survive? No! He's out! green gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
