Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Piston Honda!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonald throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Honda's head.
Honda looks to throw the jab but Macdonald is out of range.
Macdonald fakes the leg kick and cracks Honda in the body.
Honda chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Macdonald can pounce on him.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Macdonald throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Honda.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Honda throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Andrew Macdonald has been cut.

Honda bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Honda.
Honda walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Honda thows a left - swing and a miss!
Macdonald lands a head kick. Honda smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Macdonald creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Honda's defenses.
Macdonald's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Macdonald is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Honda tries to keep at a distance but Macdonald has taken the fight into the clinch.

Macdonald has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Honda avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Macdonald manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Honda cracks Macdonald with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Macdonald falls to his knees and Honda doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
