Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derya Sevket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Thromonavich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sevket comes to the cage accompanied by In the Club. Thromonavich has chosen Angel of Death - Slayer as his entrance music. Derya Sevket could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mikhail Thromonavich's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derya Sevket! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikhail Thromonavich! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thromonavich misses with a kick to the body.
Thromonavich shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sevket's guard. Thromonavich wants to pass the guard but Sevket is keeping the position. Thromonavich won't allow Sevket to sweep him here. Sevket is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Thromonavich trying to control the position from guard on top but Sevket is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sevket has his foot on Thromonavich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thromonavich works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sevket has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Thromonavich has passed into side control.
Thromonavich avoids the strikes from the bottom by Sevket. Sevket tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thromonavich wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Thromonavich taking a breather here. Sevket is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Thromonavich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sevket. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thromonavich content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Sevket manages to work his way to half guard, despite Thromonavich's best efforts. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sevket connecting with a few gentle strikes. Thromonavich seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sevket does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sevket looking for submissions off his back. Thromonavich throwing shots but Sevket is blocking nicely. Thromonavich is tying to control. Sevket wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sevket taking some punishment here, with Thromonavich in his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sevket is not content to let Thromonavich control the position. Thromonavich is working for a kimura but Sevket is defending it quite comfortably.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thromonavich throws a head kick that misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Thromonavich looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Thromonavich goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Thromonavich's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Thromonavich duly obliges.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thromonavich looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sevket is fending him off so far but Thromonavich persists. Nope, Sevket circles away and we're back to standing. Sevket shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thromonavich as he jumps to the side. Thromonavich fails with the takedown and Sevket counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Thromonavich looks gassed! Sevket lands strikes from half guard. Thromonavich is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sevket scores with a couple of nice shots. Sevket is looking for a kimura but Thromonavich is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sevket to get the leverage. Sevket moves nicely into side control. Sevket passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Thromonavich! Sevket working for a guillotine from mount but Thromonavich is in no mood to give up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sevket looking to secure an arm triangle but Thromonavich defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sevket goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Thromonavich turns into him and now he's in Sevket's guard.
Sevket manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thromonavich manages to get himself to full guard.
Sevket wants to pass the guard but Thromonavich is keeping the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thromonavich utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Thromonavich keeping full guard, as Sevket tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derya Sevket dominated that round. That's time! Sevket's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Thromonavich misses with a takedown attempt and Sevket counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sevket looking to pass the guard. Thromonavich wants to sweep here but Sevket controlling him for the moment. Thromonavich is looking to stand up but Sevket isn't so interested in that idea. Sevket looking to pass the guard. Derya Sevket overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thromonavich is trying to control the position but Sevket postures up. Sevket postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Thromonavich is breathing heavily. Sevket pushing down on Thromonavich's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Sevket is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thromonavich is just riding it out for now. Sevket eventually gives up the hold. Sevket working Thromonavich over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sevket wants to free his trapped foot but Thromonavich is holding on for dear life with his legs. Sevket winds up and cracks Thromonavich with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Thromonavich moves into full guard.
Sevket works a leg free and moves into half guard. Sevket has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sevket is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sevket slips a nice elbow through Thromonavich's hands, connecting with Thromonavich's forehead. Thromonavich tries to get to full guard but Sevket has control of the leg. Sevket is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thromonavich is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
