PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nosferatu Zodd (ranked 1738 p4p, 198 weight class) and Johannes Brahms (ranked 2399 p4p, 248 weight class). Zodd's entrance music is Motorhead - Ace of spades. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Brahms's choice of entrance music: Hungarian Dance. Johannes Brahms has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zodd misses the shot to the body.

Brahms throws a right hand that misses
and Zodd counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Brahms is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Brahms misses with a leg kick.
Zodd shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brahms eats them both and turns towards Zodd to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Zodd throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Brahms.

Zodd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brahms moves away.

Brahms drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brahms working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Brahms stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zodd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brahms is working Zodd over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Brahms seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zodd does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Brahms tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Zodd is able to avoid easily.

Brahms finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Zodd fakes the leg kick and cracks Brahms in the body.

Brahms lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Brahms throws the kick towards the body but Zodd avoids it.

A quick step to the side and Zodd tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brahms throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Zodd has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Brahms.

Zodd feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brahmss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Zodd shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Zodd tries a head kick but it misses.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Brahms - that will leave a mark!
Brahms dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zodd. That did some damage!
Brahms throws a solid leg kick but Zodd takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brahms.
Zodd was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Brahms lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

A left hand lands to the body for Zodd.
Zodd is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Zodd blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Brahms tries to break the clinch but Zodd is controlling the position.
