Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Seery (ranked 490 p4p, 28 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 1626 p4p, 83 weight class). Seery's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, An Irish Pub Song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Patrick Seery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Silva! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Alex Silva has been cut. Seery just misses with a punch to the body.
Seery takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses. Silva is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Nice straight punches there by Seery. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Seery. Nice sprawl there from Seery as Silva shoots in. Seery cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Seery but Seery pushes him off and we're back to square one. Seery misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seery misses with a wild body shot. Silva changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva. Patrick Seery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva. Seery dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva walks into a stiff left hand from Seery. Seery is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Seery tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it. Seery wants to control but Silva postures up. Silva lands an elbow. Silva tries to move to mount but Seery blocks the move with his legs. Seery's coaches at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seery wants to control but Silva postures up. Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Seery is defending well. Seery avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Silva. Silva in the domination position with Seery hanging on. The ground and pound from Silva seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Silva working the ground and pound but Seery is defending the strikes. Silva taking a breather here. Seery is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Seery knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Silva is looking to advance position but Seery won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Seery still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Seery has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Silva tries to buck Seery off but Seery is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Seery slows the pace down. Silva is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Seery dominated that round. The cut man is working on Alex Silva's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jab, jab by Seery - just one landing. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Seery as he avoids it easily. Seery cracks a nice hook into Silva's ribs. Seery takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses. Patrick Seery is winning the standup battle so far. Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Seery misses the shot to the body. Seery is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around? Seery scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Seery sends Silva crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Seery is motioning to the referee to let Silva up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Silva is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Seery gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the cage. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Seery finish him? Patrick Seery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva. Seery punishes Silva's body with a nice straight punch. Seery lands the left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seery drops Silva with a straight right hand, right on the button! Seery follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
