Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vicente Thornton has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Vicente Thornton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Ellis! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Matt Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Ellis. No joy for Thornton on that attempt. Ellis throws a nice inside leg kick. Ellis drives through with a takedown into Thornton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Thornton is trying to keep Ellis in close.
Ellis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ellis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ellis defends it easily. Ellis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ellis is working for a submission of some sort.

Ellis is trying to control. Thornton wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ellis is trying to work for a kimura but Thornton is defending well.
Ellis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thornton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Thornton looks like he's trying to stand up.
Thornton wants to control but Ellis is keeping busy and won't allow it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Thornton tries for a takedown but Ellis circles away easily and Ellis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ellis gets a double leg takedown into Thornton's guard. Thornton is pulling down on Ellis's head to control his posture. Thornton has a closed guard, preventing Ellis from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis trying to control the position from guard on top but Thornton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ellis stays in close to Thornton's body and controls the position. Ellis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ellis looks winded! Ellis showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Thornton is trying to control the position but Ellis postures up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Ellis as Thornton shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Thornton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thornton gets a double leg takedown into Ellis's guard. Ellis has his feet on Thornton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Thornton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ellis dives in for a single leg takedown but Thornton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thornton has a takedown stuffed. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ellis! But no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Ellis dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ellis lands a leg kick that knocks Thornton off balance momentarily. Ellis has closed the distance and engaged Thornton in a clinch.
Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ellis has Thornton up against the cage in a clinch.
Thornton is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ellis is defending well. Ellis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ellis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Thornton working a defensive guard here.
Ellis drops back looking for a leg! Thornton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thornton manages to kick Ellis off! Ellis jumps back into Thornton's guard. Thornton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis advances position into side control! Ellis trying to control the position but Thornton is working away. Thornton is looking to reverse the position. Ellis working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A bit of a lull in the action here. Ellis has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Thornton is trying to control Ellis's posture but Ellis avoids it. Thornton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ellis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thornton keeps working. Thornton struggling a bit here. Ellis trying to control the position but Thornton is working away. Ellis stands up. Ellis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thornton circles away. Ellis is breathing heavily. Thornton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Thornton is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ellis. Vicente Thornton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Ellis. Ellis throws a leg kick and Thornton counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ellis! Ellis tries to improve position but can't. Ellis struggling a bit here. Thornton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Thornton working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thornton scoring with punches from side control. Thornton misses with the ground and pound. Thornton throwing strikes but Ellis manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Thornton is looking to regain half guard here but Ellis keeps moving and retains side control. Thornton is trying to control Ellis's posture but Ellis avoids it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ellis decides to stand back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ellis has managed to clinch.
Thornton is trying to break the clinch but Ellis has him pressed against the cage. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ellis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Thornton taking a breather. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Ellis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Ellis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thornton. Ellis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thornton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ellis tries to avoid it but Thornton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ellis to the ground. Ellis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Thornton shoots in and drives through. Ellis sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Thornton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellis shoots in for a takedown but Thornton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Thornton. No joy for Ellis on that attempt. As Ellis looks to move away, Thornton throws a big counter combo but Ellis just gets out of the way. Ellis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thornton avoids it really well and circles away. Thornton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Ellis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Thornton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thornton, pushing him back against the cage. Ellis is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Thornton to keep the fight standing. Ellis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thornton walks away with a smile on his face. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Thornton shoots in for a takedown but Ellis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ellis shoots in for a double leg but Thornton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Thornton tries to clinch there but Ellis circles away.
Ellis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thornton swivels and escapes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thornton gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Thornton has had enough of the clinch but Ellis keeps him there for the moment. Thornton stalling the fight.
Ellis is trying to pull guard but Thornton turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. A short uppercut from Thornton. Thornton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. A bit of stalling here from Thornton.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Thornton for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Thornton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ellis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ellis blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis lands a right hand. Ellis has Thornton pressed against the cage, preventing Thornton from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ellis tries for a takedown but Thornton manages to get underhooks.
Thornton stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Thornton tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Thornton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ellis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Thornton jumps guard but Ellis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Ellis dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Thornton is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ellis is keeping busy. Ellis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thornton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ellis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ellis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ellis is looking to stand up but Thornton isn't so interested in that idea. Ellis is pulling down on Thornton's head to control his posture. Thornton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Matt Ellis has got the better of the ground game so far. Ellis pushes Thornton off and scrambles back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A momentary lapse in concentration from Thornton enables Ellis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thornton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Ellis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ellis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
