The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mutuumbe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hardin controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Mutuumbe is trying to control the action in half guard but Hardin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mutuumbe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hardin keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Hardin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mutuumbe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hardin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hardin throws an elbow that misses. Mutuumbe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hardin's guard. Nice move by Mutuumbe !
Hardin pulls Mutuumbe in close to his closed guard and prevents Mutuumbe from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mutuumbe tries to stand but Hardin is controlling from the bottom.
Hardin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hardin wants to sweep here but Mutuumbe controlling him for the moment.

Hardin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hardin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

A close round but Zulu Mutuumbe will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mutuumbe drives through with a takedown into Hardin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hardin has control of Mutuumbe 's left arm, preventing Mutuumbe from doing any damage.
