Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angle has chosen The Doors - Roadhouse Blues as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Derek David has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek David! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Angle! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Angle fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging David to the ground. Angle is now in David's guard. Angle drops back looking for a leg! David is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and David manages to kick Angle off! Angle jumps back into David's guard. David is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Angle is controlling him. Angle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. David swivels though and keeps the full guard. Angle sitting in guard here, content to control. David keeping full guard, as Angle tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Angle preventing the sweep. Angle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. David is keeping the position for now. Angle stands and throws David's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Angle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Angle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Angle works to advance to full mount. David defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Angle won't let David get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. David is squirming around, avoiding Angle's attempts to control the action. Angle goes for an armbar but he's not got it… David turns into him and now he's in Angle's guard.
Angle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
David is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Angle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and David defends well. David content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. David throws a big right hand that misses. David keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Angle's head. Angle keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully. Angle is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! David has his hands clasped together but Angle extends and breaks David's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Angle.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kurt Angle! An out of breath Kurt Angle thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
